Purpose
As a fantasy football and basketball player, I’ve spent countless seasons immersed in the Yahoo Fantasy platform. Drafting, managing lineups, and tracking performance daily. While the platform offers powerful features, I often found its user interface to be cluttered and unintuitive, especially on mobile. After discussing with fellow fantasy players, I realized this was a shared frustration.
Many expressed that the app’s UX made it difficult to navigate between key features like player stats, matchup views, and waiver activity. This personal experience, combined with peer feedback, inspired me to take on a concept redesign of Yahoo Fantasy as a personal project, aimed at improving the platform’s usability, streamlining core interactions, and enhancing the overall user experience for passionate players like myself.
Thought Process
While going about this personal project, I researched and came to a conclusion on the 3 main apps that avid fantasy players use, ESPN+, Yahoo Sports, and Sleeper. Comparing all 3, I took inspiration of all 3 applications and incorperated within my redesign.
